All freshly made, and the only place you can get fresh Tasmanian oyster. Good, affordable prices. Lots of choice!. Staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. They have a nice sitting table opposite the bar. I am surprised that such a high-class sushi bar is closer to the fruit and vegetables market. Lots of people during lunchtime, but they have a few counter to minimise the que. Yup, I highly recommend ?

I will only go to this Sushi place at the Glen! They have an amazing array of different options! I get the rainbow fish sushi tray and it is always so fresh and delicious. The service is quick and fast which is what I like as I have a short break and I want to grab and go. I recommend!

the OG maguro, and the one that started it all before more popped up.

their sashimi is the best, and the oysters are the most fresh and incredible i've ever had. suprisingly maguro as a whole franchise?? - their sushi rolls can be better.

If you however have to try maguro sushi, DO NOT try based off the sushi handrolls, you MUST grab one of their sets/platters etc, thank me later

Our go to local sushi place. We often get their sushi / sashimi platters, which are great for catering small group meals. Service is pretty consistent and efficient, especially considering how busy they are all the time.

We last minute ordered a Sushi Deluxe Platter for a Saturday night, staff members were very kind to make it work for us even without the 1 day notice. We also ordered two maki rolls alongside. We were impressed with the quality of sushi, they were reasonably fresh and great presentation. Prices were quite decent too especially for the platter. They even gave us a good quality cool bag to takeaway with for freshness! Will definitely come back for the platters when we host again!

I ordered a 6 platters, requesting a pick up time outside of their normal pick up hours and Billy and his team were extremely accommodating. Not only did they fulfil my request, the food was beautifully presented and of utmost freshness. The sushi was thoroughly enjoyed without any leftovers. Thank you Maguro for such good service!

Ordered a premium sushi platter here. Very fresh and had a variety of sushi, maki, and nigiris. There ws public holidag surcharge on top credit card surcharge.

Had lunch here for the first time on Sunday - huge variety, best price I’ve seen and quality on point. They really care about their product and their customers.

I really enjoyed their wild caught Tasmanian sea urchin.

Lively place with some really fresh ?? and sashimi rolls. They have seating in front so your can pick your planter and wear straight away. They also have fresh oysters shucked for you on demand.

Love the sushi. Ingredients are fresh and the oysters are freshly shucked. I remember getting jumbo oysters once, they were gigantic and cool!

Our go to sushi spot! One of the best quality to value for money ratios!

Every time we go here the quality is super consistent and fish is super fresh. I’m no sushi expert, but I feel it’s pretty close to what you get at much more expensive sushi restaurants (like shira nui).

Our faves are the salmon aburi (torched salmon), eel and the tuna! Soooo delish and healthy!

Very close to a perfect lunch that doesn’t make you feel sluggish!

Between 15-25 per person!

Maguro is my number 1 favourite sushi bar! I’m so obsessed with this place ?? Their sushi and nigiri boxes are really yummy, fresh, cheap and high quality. Honestly this is the best takeaway sushi bar in Melbourne! Must try their signature spicy salmon mayo, salmon nigiri and the sushi boxes.. those are very good! ?

Very fresh sushi, seafood, oysters. A variety of sushi and sashimi to choose from. Lovely warm reception from the staff. Will definitely be back to try more dishes!

We had the delux platter and the vegetarian platter along with some seaweed salad. The food was terrific and we all enjoyed it. The prices are also very reasonable.

Just woke up from a bad stomachache at 3AM after eating their sushi tonight. Been vomiting ever since...

I always buy my sushi here whenever I can and it's been fine but the diced salmon gunkan today tasted a little off. At the time, I couldn't really tell with all the marinate in it but pretty sure that's what caused it.

Please make sure you fresh ingredients are used for every sushi, disappointed and put off eating all sushi for a while 🙁

Amazing fresh seafood! Highly recommend Maguro if you are craving freshly shucked oysters, nigiri, sushi and sashimi. Melt in your mouth, incredibly flavourful and reasonably priced for the quality you get. Been here many many time and consistently the best in town!

Best sushi and sashimi in town! Super fresh and great value for money. 12 beautiful sashimi slices for $13.50 which would easily cost $18 in a restaurant setting but even fresher (no fishy taste). I come every weekend because it’s just that good! My only feedback to management is to improve the line-up process…it can be annoying when all you want is a hand roll but have to line up behind everyone looking at the platters and taking a long time to pick….might be good to have a sign saying ‘order for hand rolls’ so make it quicker for everyone…but like I said I come back every weekend anyway 🙂

Order on-line and pick up process was smooth and easy. Everything was prepared and ready when I arrived. I spent about 1 minute to collect my platter. As always, the food was fresh and delicious.

Sushi here is very fresh and tasty. You can find several types of sushi and specialty items, which are difficult to find elsewhere at a reasonable price. The party platters are also very good in terms of value for money.

Hard to believe this is the quality of a food court/shopping centre fast-sushi joint. Fish is so fresh, display so enticing and well-presented with such a wide variety at such a reasonable price.

Maguro is my #1 go-to for takeaway sushi in Melbourne.

Sashimi and oysters are consistently very fresh and high quality.

They also have the most delicious and beautiful sushi and sashimi platters available which are great for any occasion.

I am a regular customer. In Covid situation, I cannot go back to Japan, but thanks to this shop, I enjoy my Australian life.

I can say that it’s authentic and the best sushi takeaway shop in Melbourne.The quality and price is great and I appreciate they keep quality ever time I go.

I hope they are gonna expand business like a sushi train restaurant or izakaya one day. If so, I would be a customer for it!

Just 2 simple words; EXTREMELY SATISFIED! We had a special order of the lobster sashimi and a large sushi and sashimi plater. Both tasted fresh and delicious. Will definitely recommend to anyone who has not tried them.

Got a small sashimi platter to share today. The sashimi slices were fresh and were delicious. While at the bar, we could see all the food prepared freshly before our eyes at the counter too. The staff were also very polite and we were delighted by their service.

We will definitely recommend to try their sashimi and sushi. Did I mention that they have fresh oysters too? They look really good too!

Since its opening, it really gives another Sushi store a good run for its money. Maguro Bar is located just across the Asian grocer, which basically means guaranteed foot traffic. Indeed there is always a long queue at the store.

The success of the store is the concept of selling takeaway colourful combo packs of Japanese food such as sushi, sashimi, and fresh oyster, etc. The brightly lit store and display cabinets are a big plus.

Today I ordered the Sushi and Sashimi deluxe and the Uramaki platter last minute and the team here at Maguro Bar happily accepted and made two fresh platters for me. Not only did they make it efficiently but they also helped me get it to my car safely as I had my baby with me. Service with a smile, clean and very fresh and most importantly very tasty!

Purchased 8 sushi during the happy hour on a Tuesday evening. Total 16 AUD. It is a good deal. The taste is about average, not much to complain about. There is a surcharge for card payments less than 20 AUD.
